Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing your use of the Orbit service ("Service"), operated by Foundry Apps. By using the Service, you agree to this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service. Violations of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Prohibited Activities

2.1 Illegal Activities

• Using the Service for any purpose that violates UK law or applicable international law
• Engaging in fraud, impersonation, or misrepresentation
• Violating any intellectual property rights of third parties
• Processing, storing, or transmitting unlawful content

2.2 Security Violations

• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its systems, networks, or any user accounts
• Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service without written authorisation
• Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service, including via denial-of-service attacks
• Introducing malware, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or other malicious code
• Bypassing, disabling, or circumventing any security or access controls
• Attempting to reverse-engineer or decompile the Service

2.3 Data Scraping and API Abuse

• Systematically downloading, scraping, or exporting data from the Service in bulk using automated means (bots, crawlers, scrapers)
• Using the Service to aggregate or redistribute its data commercially without prior written authorisation
• Making an excessive number of requests that place undue load on our infrastructure (rate limit abuse)
• Accessing the Service by any means other than the publicly provided interface without authorisation

2.4 Account Misuse

• Sharing your account credentials with other individuals to circumvent billing
• Creating multiple accounts to abuse free tier limits
• Registering accounts using false or misleading information
• Selling, transferring, or sublicensing your account to another party

2.5 Harmful or Offensive Conduct

• Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users or our staff
• Using the Service to transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
• Engaging in conduct that damages the reputation of Orbit or Foundry Apps

3. Responsible Disclosure

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it responsibly by emailing david@foundryapps.co.uk with details of the issue. We request that you do not publicly disclose the vulnerability until we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address it. We appreciate responsible security research.

4. Fair Use

The Service is designed for individual personal use to track space missions and events. While we do not impose hard rate limits on normal usage, we reserve the right to throttle or restrict access for accounts whose usage patterns are inconsistent with personal use and could negatively impact service performance for other users.

5. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. Upon finding a violation, we may take any of the following actions at our discretion:

• Issue a warning
• Temporarily suspend your account
• Permanently terminate your account
• Report the activity to relevant law enforcement authorities
• Take legal action where warranted

We will ordinarily give notice before taking action, except where doing so would be harmful, impractical, or legally inadvisable (e.g. in the case of a security incident).

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of a violation of this AUP, please report it to us at david@foundryapps.co.uk. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the current AUP. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
